I moved back to my hometown at the start of the pandemic. My hobby was no longer something I was able to do, and I needed a creative outlet. The Duchess of Kooky was dreamt up in the autumn of 2020. It has taken a bit to get here, but I’m finally crossing the first finish line.
Moving back to my hometown felt like a breath of fresh air, a return to the comforting embrace of familiarity. The streets I once roamed as a child through young adulthood held countless memories, and every corner seemed to whisper tales of my past.
Remembering stores or places that used to be and are now something else. Rekindling old friendships in the hopes of capturing a part of your youth.
Healing and changing my path in life.
Creating a blog was not as easy as it looked. I’m pretty tech-savvy until I try and use a template, and there is something called coding. Nothing makes me feel older than not being able to figure out a computer program or something that is made to look pretty. I’m from the Myspace days. Still very basic, as there were templates even back then.
Anyhoo, thanks to my millennial niece, who did all the work, I’m able to now share my stories. They will come in many formats. Photos, videos, and if I’m feeling extra magical, my musings. They may be sporadic, or they may be annoyingly on the daily.
Follow me on my journey through life, working towards manifesting my dreams of being an artist living in Italy.
