February passed in a blur, with wet and wintry weather often confining us indoors. However, I made it a point to break away from work for a brief respite, often strolling down to the beach just a couple of blocks away. Despite my fear of water stemming from a near-drowning incident during a summer visit with my father (a story for another time) I find solace in these short walks. They give me a quick feeling of freedom and peace. Swimming has always been a challenge for me, and have never enjoyed it, doggy paddle is the best I can do unless I am wearing a face mask in pools allows me to submerge underwater, although I now avoid pools altogether, fearing the impact on my vibrant red hair.
March, in contrast, arrived like a soft, warm blanket, with crisp mornings giving way to pleasantly warm afternoons. We’ve seized the opportunity for a couple of scooter rides on Luna, our beloved Royal Alloy scooter. Luna holds a special place in our hearts, and I plan to introduce her to everyone through a summer photoshoot. My husband and I are approaching our 22nd wedding anniversary this July, having shared 26 wonderful years together, during which scooters have been a consistent part of our lives. I regret not capturing images of his previous scooters, but perhaps I’ll find some tucked away.
With Luna’s comfortable passenger seat and the addition of a backrest for security, I’ve also invested in a helmet contraption to mount my Insta360x camera, eagerly anticipating the chance to document our adventures. Lookout for the YouTube videos!
On February 1st, we welcomed a new family member, bringing us joy during a few visits, and we eagerly await more time together. She is a little miracle and has quite a story of her entry into this world. She is a beautiful sweet soul and I can’t wait to watch her grow. Additionally, our adult niece, who crafted my blogs while residing in Korea, will be visiting this weekend for a month or two. I’m excited to create lasting memories with loved ones , alongside her assistance in enhancing the blog.
Recently, I dusted off my old Nikon camera, a gift from my husband around a decade ago. While my enthusiasm for photography waned for a time, I’m rediscovering my passion and learning to navigate the blog site, where I plan to share my musings, photos, and whimsical videos.
Despite navigating a midlife crisis and contemplating a pixie cut after shedding a significant portion of my hair, my love for fashion endures. In my youth, fashion was my passion, and I’m considering reviving it by posting about vintage-inspired looks and sharing my fashion discoveries online. Perhaps I’ll even dust off the sewing machine and breathe new life into thrifted items, reminiscing about the good old days.
We have been in hermit mode for so long now that it seems so strange to navigate life as it once was. I almost miss the days of the pandemic when the world stood still. However there is a shift and we are ready to stretch our wings a little and get out with nature. We don’t have a desire to do the things we once did but have found new sources of enjoyment that slowly have been healing and brining joy into our little world. We still much enjoy the solitude of us but don’t mind an outing or so with our little circle.
Change is palpable in the air—a shift in the matrix of our lives. I sense positive developments on the horizon, a welcomed lightness replacing the darkness of the past. Connecting with nature and spending more time outdoors uplifts my spirits, particularly at the beach, where the crashing waves serenade my soul. As we embark on the coming months, I eagerly anticipate the stories waiting to unfold and the journey we’ll share together.
May curiosity guide your path,
